SYKES Philippines Named BPO Company of the Year

SYKES Philippines has been recognized as BPO Company of the Year by the Asia Leaders Awards for the third consecutive year. The awards, which are hosted annually to recognize leaders who are making a difference in the business world, have previously recognized SYKES as BPO of the Year, CSR Company of the Year, and Top Employer of the Year.

This year’s win is especially meaningful for the SYKES Philippines teams, as it recognizes the hard work and effort that countless team members put in to ensure business continuity amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Winning the award for three straight years is a testament to SYKES’ passion, commitment to excellence, and solid teamwork to serve our clients, customers, employees, and community. Although 2020 has not been an easy year for everyone, we have not lost sight of our purpose.

We endeavored to beat the odds and continue to operate our business, thriving under the new normal. We appreciate that international business awards like Asia Leaders Awards recognized our hard work in staying true to our mission of helping and serving people, one caring interaction at a time,” said Shane Baetz, vice president of Regional Support Services, APAC Operations, in a blog post originally shared to the SYKES Philippines site.

The Asia Leaders Awards recognized SYKES for its ability to quickly pivot operations during the pandemic. Swift action and planning allowed more than 75% of SYKES Philippines employees to work remotely, while those who remained on-site were offered free accommodations and care packages containing personal protective equipment.

SYKES Philippines began operations in 1997 and now employs more than 12,000 people at seven sites across the region. Agents at SYKES Philippines are focused on providing exemplary support service to brand partners across many industries, including financial services, communications, technology, transportation and leisure, education. In addition to customer service, SYKES’ operations in the Philippines provide technical and back-office support, sales support, and social media services to some of the world’s leading brands.
